About me
After a successful 30 year career as a Policewoman I retired gracefully and set about enhancing my knowledge of dog behaviour and training.
I specialise in rescue dogs, having worked with them for the past 16 years and love to help them settle into their new forever home. I also specialise in Spaniels, helping owners to channel their dog’s natural exuberance!
I have owned dogs, mainly spaniels, for the past 46 years, three of which have been rescue dogs and I currently share my home with Barney, a rescue Spaniel mix, who is 5 years old and a typical Spaniel!
Practical experience:
In 2010 I started my journey into dog training and behaviour gaining valuable knowledge and experience by volunteering at both the local animal rescue centre (ARC) and at RSPCA Danaher in Wethersfield as a dog trainer and later as a behaviourist whilst studying for my theory qualifications. The years of practical experience handling & training all different breeds of dogs with different issues was invaluable.
In 2017 I started ‘Doggonebehaviour’ and ever since I have ‘trained’ hundreds of owners to teach their dogs valuable life skills and also successfully helped to modify dogs challenging behavioural issues using positive reinforcement, reward based methods.
